Justiça Rápida Itinerante

The Court of Justice of the State of Rondônia, aiming to expand access to justice for the entire population of the state, regardless of their location, introduced an innovative and pioneering initiative that encouraged the adaptation of services, previously provided exclusively within the institution, to a new format.

This led to the emergence of the Itinerant Rapid Justice, an initiative carried out periodically throughout the state, with the objective of providing broad and free services to the population in the areas of Civil, Criminal, Child and Youth, Family and Public Records. This is Justice reaching out to the most distant communities, making itself present in a transparent, accessible and inclusive manner.

The target audience for this initiative is mainly people in situations of socioeconomic vulnerability and/or living in regions far from urban centers and official courts. The Rapid Itinerant Justice Program has as its fundamental principle access to justice, interpreted in light of contemporary social changes, to ensure effective and concrete service. This action is inspired by the need to adapt to the new policy of serving the population, with the creation of the Small Claims Court and the Itinerant Justice, intensified from 1990 onwards, when judges would travel to neighborhoods to resolve disputes.

The Rapid Justice Operation was established by Resolution No. 008/2000, of the Presidency of the Court of Justice of Rondônia, and regulated by Provisions No. 006/2000 and No. 010/2000, of the General Inspectorate of Justice.

To carry out these actions, the team travels by water, long distances by land, asphalt or dirt roads, facing the region's strong rains and winds, to ensure that justice reaches the state's districts, settlements, inland counties, towns and small communities.

With partners such as the State Public Prosecutor's Office, the State Public Defender's Office and other state, municipal or federal agencies, such as the Brazilian Army, which works in the areas of health, community and cultural integration, weddings are performed, identity cards and work cards are issued and voter registration cards are issued.

Magistrates and civil servants are part of this historic journey that has been building what has been sustained since 1982 as a service to the population of the State of Rondônia, bringing Justice to all communities, facing geographical and climatic diversities, so that the right to exercise citizenship is guaranteed with solidity through Rapid Itinerant Justice.
